The Piece I did for the Kelly Engineering Building, Fractals
and Trees, visually incorporates two concepts used in computer
science, fractals and trees. These two concepts are expressed
in the layout of the large reflectors. The design is composed
of a series of squares with the center square 16 reflectors
by 16 reflectors, with the next 8x8, then 4x4, then 2x2 and
lastly 1x1. This sequence is repeated from 16 to 1 and then
back to 16 etc. Small white reflectors are layered over this
pattern with the intent to resemble a computer motherboard. |
